Each artist is required to select THREE pieces of artwork for the upcoming art show.
Artworks must have been created at Funky Artsmiths, and can be selected from:
Artworks completed during Spring classes 2024
*spring artworks should be delivered to the studio by March 15th
Fall & Winter classes 2024 - 2025
Is a feature we've added over the last few years and is much anticipated by those in the know!
Writing an artist statement is a good practice for your future artists. It allows them to reflect on their work, share their experiences and inform the viewer something about themselves.
Artist statements are displayed along with the artists work at the show giving guests an insight into an artist when they are to shy or nervous to communicate or are not at the show
Your artist should have completed their artist statement and artwork selections before March 15th
Everyone!
There's plenty of room for your artists family, friends, mentors and cheerleaders!
The more the merrier
so that each student has so many wonderful opportunities to talk about their artwork and hear the praise and encouragement from guests!
BUSY WEEK
This gives us plenty of time to pick each students art work and prepare for the show
As part of your students art learning this is a great place to recognize their work and our whole reason for the art show.
During your artists showtime, your student is expected to be present, beside their artwork display.
They are an artist representing themselves, talking about their work, their art experience and their inspirations
We know that some of our students are likely to be nervous or anxious about their first, (or subsequent) art show. All artists are encouraged to speak but its also totally ok if all they can manage is a smile or a nod to the head
Let them find their own words.
No studying required
The art experience is kinaesthetic and they will have incredible recall once comfortable
In our experience, all of these artists shine!
